Something about the way dates are noted gets my attention:
1/3/13
01/03/13
etc

It could be a function of the US (above) or EU (below) style as well:
3/1/13
03/01/13
etc

2012 was a banner year.
1/2/12
2/1/12
etc

2011 was a year that generated binary patterns.

I have a notebook filled with them.
